Looking for a very beginner/amateur studio setup. Found on craigslist....
A PAIR of 7' Background/Light Stands and A 9-1/2' Telescope CrossBar. Apparently purchased last year and only used 3 times. What would you offer? $100? I am clueless on market value

Best option to hang a paper backdrop? and be flexible for other needs? lighting if no backdrop etc.

Any advice where to get a paper backdrop in Minneapolis area?

Hi. I am not sure about this particular setup your are describing caspertron. I bought Amvona's Dynatran AS-014 Background support on ebay for under $85 shipped. As i understand from what you are describing the dyntran setup is higher and wider and i think more versatile. It comes with a bag and its pretty sturdy. I think its your best bet for under $100.

Hope that helps,

Yan

I bought savage porta stand which I think is 2 8.5' LS along with the telescopic bar. Came with 53" roll of white seemless for $129.

If you decide to go with amvona system, check them out on ebay. If you wait and try to bid on their auction you can get a good deal. Bobbyz how do you like the savage stand. I was thinking to get it but went with dynatran because it was a good deal on ebay.

wow - glad i posted. All replies very helpful. Only advantage to this is it is local and I can get it before my photoshoot on Sunday - and play around with it before then

I am inclined to offer $50 and see if it flies. Like I said I am too green to really form preferences at this point so may suffice.

Just called a local camera store and they have the background papers for $40/roll so I could be up and running for about $100
