s2 is image count

how can i find out the true # of images taken with my s2?

You can't. Canon might be able to. If you've neer reset the camera, inserted a card from another camera or any number of other things, you may be able to get an approximation from the file/folder number.

mine saves each picture numericaly, but I use only 1 card so that might make a difference I'm up to somewhere around Img_4000ish
