Hello,
Got my eyes on the Manfrotto range, not too bothered about weight (I assume that makes them cheaper!) anyone any suggestions for a specific model that will take the weight ?
I also already have a monopod (model 681B) anyone know if this will take the weight too ?
Cheers,
Lee

I have the 3021 Pro, and it'll handle the 10D with grip and 100-400, and I bet you can climb on it too if you want to. Seriously, this is a beefy tripod.

Go to the Bogen site & look @ the specs of each tripod & head. That is the safe way of doing it.

I live in the UK and am looking for a tripod too. I want something portable and was looking at Manfrotto. I found that the Yanks would recommend Bogen 3001 and other tripods. Now I know that these are Manfrotto tripods under a different name but the model numbers always threw me. I found this site useful to translate recommendations from American users to products that can be bought in UK shops. Maybe it will help you...

I also have the Bogen-Manfrotto 3021PRO and it's sweet. Holds the MKII, 100-400, a couple of kids and the cat with no problem. Very versatile too. Legs fold out flat. Center pole splits to a short center pole. This thing is awesome.

I have ended up buying a Slik Pro 400DX which was quite reasonable (£80 c/w head) and for the amount I will use it will be fine - I hope !
