My first with a photo pass for a signed band. I haven't had a chance to go through all of them but here are a few that jumped out at me.

My biggest lesson of this night was that I learned that I need something better than a XT and a nifty fifty. Obviously I felt extremely limited in the shots I could get. :( But it was still fun!

Tipsy must have altered my perspective. I normally don't like tilted compositions but he's been spoon feeding us with them and his efforts are starting to pay off. I actually like these. Well done for being your first time.

They look pretty good, looks like you had some nice light to work with. I know how it is working with only a 50 (on a crop). I'm sure there are more than a few of us who started shooting performing arts with one of the 50s. You tend to get a lot of 3/4 body shots when shooting from the pit, but if you only have one length to work with, I'd say 50 works pretty well. The tilting in #1 is certainly justifiable since it kept the entire bass in the frame, and it looks like you were trying to work around a mic stand in #3.

Yea, the tilt wasn't so much for any kind of dramatic effect for the most part (sometimes it was;) ) but usually just because I was trying to not cut off the instruments. I think that's where a lot of the frustration was coming from.

The lights were great, so much better than I'm used to with local bands!

Love the shot of Myles. You gotta get some shots up of Tremonti. Alter bridge is one of my favorite bands, definately jealous that you got a pass to shoot them

I thought they were great! Really sucked they had such a crappy turnout.
