Here's an interesting read that suggests the Intel Macs might be able to run Windows apps inside OS X without having windows installed on your Mac. Right now, the only way to do this is with Boot Camp, Parallels or VM Fusion - all of which require an installation of Windows.

I've often wished that MAC OS would run on PC hardware,. but always knew that this option would be abhorrent to Apple as they would lose hardware sales,..
Allowing MAC OS to run windows apps, without the MAC customer having to pay MS for there awefull OS,.. now that would NOT hurt Apple, it would in fact be more incentive to buy Mac hardware and the MAC OS...
Unfortunately this sounds like a rumor at best.. (and thus I think this gets a move..) but I would love to see this come to pass.
Not being able to use my Windows apps,. was the #1 reason I did not buy a Mac last time I did an upgrade.
As more stuff become Vista centric, we would have even more incentive to flee to MAC and use the Apps on an OS that is less buggy and intrusive.

Apple could sell an OS,nic and video card bundle for certain chipset mobos. It would sell a little bit and would make people think about mac hardware on next gen.
Steve "brick it" Jobs doesn't think like that unfortunately.

Just have to put my 2cents in here. Apple did license the OS some years ago and the result was clones that started acting like PCs - quirky and buggy, with driver issues.
I used PC for some years and switched to MAC years ago and have not missed anything PCs have to offer except trouble. Any software I cared to have was made for MAC.
My best friend who just bought a Vista laptop (it was cheap) still comes to my MAC to download, edit, save her images. She trusts my 4 year old MAC more than her new PC.
- go figure . . . .
