Taken last Saturday...this female needed to stretch her wings and then some, 30D and 400 F5.6 580EX for fill...Lat image is approx. a 50% crop and squared.

Ah, I bet that felt good. Beautiful shots Gary and this is one of the things all birds share, from hummingbirds to Bald Eagles, they all do this exact same stretchy thing. :)

Thanks everybody for your kind words. Its such a joy to photograph this species....For years you never see one and then all of a sudden they are here but not to be taken for granted...Who knows how long they are here for and will they be back next year?? Thanks again:D
