I'm ready to move on and really want a DSLR. Finances are damn tight.

I've been reading reviews, specs...etc. for weeks now, and I think I'm going to purchase a D-Rebel for eight bills. The D-Rebel was the decision so far due to finances, as I said.

Is there any reason I should avoid this camera?

I think ANY model of DSLR would be a great choice.

Yeah... I think maybe you should consider a D30 or D60. The cost of those can be $300 less than the cost of a Drebel. If your budget is very tight, there are lower priced choices than the 300D....

Thanks Pete. I was really getting interested in the D70 (can't afford it atm anyway), but after looking at gallery image after gallery image, I noticed a common trend that I didn't like anyway, which was noise in all of the D70 images I saw, plus I think I'd rather invest in Canon lenses rather than Nikkor. But... what do I know, I'm only about six months into learning photography :)
