Received my issue this month and on the top of the cover it says: "FIRST LOOK: CANON EOS 20D-8MP, 5 FPS, LOW NOISE AND LAG!"
Well, not so much a first look IMO but a hastily written spec page to get the "news" in on time for publication. I say hastily written because one bullet point on the page is printed as follows:
"An 8.2-megapixel CMOS sensor provides the potential for extra-large prints; improved noise reduction allows the EOS 20D's ISO 400 setting to come close to the performance of the EOS 10D when set for ISO 1600."
Is my mind just overtired tonight or should the 400/1600 ISO reference be reversed for that statement to be correct?
Nonetheless, a little bit of excitement to see a new Canon DSLR in print. :)

I got it today too. I was upset though, as it wasnt anything more then "hey look what you can google on 1,000 sites"
Hopefully the next issue will have a review.

I found PCPhoto to be just about the most useless mag out there...

Well, I'm not exactly saving my issues like I do w/Popular Mechanics but I've found it to provide me at least a couple good tips each issue (that may not speak highly of my photo knowledge/ability ). Not bad anyway for a free magazine [receiving it free from an online questionaire posted a few months ago]. Not likely a publication that I would pay for though.
So, what are "THE BEST" photog magazines out there? In essence, what does everyone here subscribe to?

Yup. The first information hits the net and it's not restricted by cost per page layout and post editing issues like a paper mag. I get nearly all my news nowadays from blogs rather than papers or 10 o'clock news. However, it IS nice to have a nicely written magazine article to read and sometimes the perspectives are refreshing being the content is leveraged for print. A bit more convenient too when a lappy or blackberry isn't convenient.
For PC stuff, I generally spend my time at Anandtech. Though I'm less there now that I've been run over by this photography thing.
