Hi,
What are "actions" for PS people are talking about.

In a nutshell, it's a set of commands (or actions, if you will) that is recorded as they are applied in real time and then saved. You can then replay these recorded actions to apply them to the same or another image.

Actions come in very handy when you have a set of commands that you always execute, such as applying USMs, resizing and saving for the web, etc.

In other programs (such as Word etc.) the same thing is called "macros". PS Elements also has actions, if I'm not mistaken. Do you have Photoshop? Look it up in the help file.

Besides actions there are other ways to automate tasks in Photoshop; you can, for example, also program it using various scripting languages (AppleScript, JavaScript and Visual Basic).

Yes You can.

If You have registered on Adobe's community there is a download section where You can find actions, textures and a whole bunch other stuff. I am sure there are other sites that also have stuff for download.

Anybody know where I can find actions for PSE. I'm interested in B&W and velvia (I don't mind paying for them).

Thanks

hi there i use photoshop cs and the actions on the page i left the link for im sure most are compatable with earlier versions of photoshop

ive used most of them extensively and had some great results give them a whirl you have nothing to loose to import the presaved actions into photoshop just make sure the actions window is displayed and drag and drop into the action pane
