Ok, first post for serious C&C. Took this today at a huge estate auction, there were about 50 collector guns for auction and this was before the guns came up, when there were selling the "regular" items. The man that is paying attention is the top man at a nearby Hutterite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutterites) colony.

Haven't done many b/w conversions, not sure if this one works or not.

The B&W is better, but nothing stands out as the main interest in the photo. Everyone looks disinterested. A close up of the man in the black hat would have been good.

I agree, the B&W conversion looks good.
My eyes just seem to wander all over, looking for the center of interest.
