As someone who tries not to take things for granted, I just wanted to so THANKYOU PEKKA for offering this amazing forum! :D
I'm in here every day, and I look forward to reading and posting here.
This is easily my favourite site on the internet. I'm sure many others would agree. I really wish Canon would compensate you some way for your efforts, as this forum is one of the big reasons I am now a "Canonite".
Anyway thanks again!

PS. I know this is more of a topic for the "general chat", but this is the forum I visit most often, and the one for which I'm most grateful, so I hope you dont mind.

............was it 8.5 fps, 8 megapixel, 1.3x crop factor?? If so, Canon already delivered ;-)

.............truthfully though. This forum is SOOO MUCH better than that "other" forum.............

..............and a "THANK YOU" to all the moderators for thier wit and knowledge.

..............and a "Thank You" for all the memebers.

And a BIG THANK YOU to Pekka, for without him, we would still be posting in that "other" forum.

Please allow me to join this thead by thanking Pekka myself. It's great forum, and even though English is not my mother tongue, I participate in this forum much more than I do in local forums.

Thank you Pekka for this wonderful forum !

Which one are you reffering to? The one with the pissed off people who post only negative stuff and try to intimidate you as much as possible?

What makes this forum so great is how close and friendly we are to each other. I hope it'll stay like this forever. The more members it gets the harder it is, but I hope the positive and fun attitude will rule this place for as long as it exists.

I, too am thankfull for this forum. Without it, I'd still have money :P , but the gratification photography brings.... it's priceless.

*edit: I need to work on my typing skills. Makes me sound like a 2nd grader.

there is no way I would be even remotely interested in photography without this forum, it's the perfect introduction to the hobby/profession, and also the perfect tool for those NOT completely new to it (erm, I assume hehe :-) )

thanks Pekka

I'm grateful for this forum and Pekka runs it well. I can always find someone to answer my questions. Canon should use this as a source for camera upgrade recommendations. Pekka, if you come to Moline, Illinois(home of John Deere), you are my guest for a free dinner!!!! Thanks again!!

I have been interested in photography for the last 4-5 years, but I probably learnt 90% of all that I know about photogrphy since I joined this forum last year. I religiously visit this forum everyday, and I know it's going to be part of my life for years to come. Thanks a lot Pekka/CDS/Belmondo and other forum members for making this a great site!

Good call Drisley!
As a matter of fact, I want to thank Pekka and you too; I was just looking for help on a problem I'm having with hot pixels, and found a post by Drisley that completely solved my problem!

So, Pekka, thanks for the space you provide for us;
Everyone else, especially people with photography experience and "know how" (no pun intended), for helping with your minds!

Not only does Pekka run a marvelous forum, but his photography sets a standard that we can all aspire to. I hate heavy metal but I love looking at his pictures. And his unbelievable stitched G1 street scene is awesome. Shows that you don't need fancy gear to make art.

Thanks Pekka and thank you Drisley for nudging us.

Well, I'm relatively new to this site. I had a splurge a long time ago when I challenged an assertion that the D60's sensor is too small to stop down below f11, and then spent a lot of time on the Luminous Landscape, arguing 'in depth' issues which are probably of no interest to most people.

Unfortunatley, my criricisms got too close to the bone and I was essentially 'kicked off' the site, despite the fact that I'm a suscriber to the Luminous Landscape Video Journal which supports the site. It's deeply disturbing. Michael Reichmann appears to be reflecting a current American malaise. I really can't get through to him :( .

So, I have to thank Pekka for allowing me to at least make the above statements without censorship.

Yep. Count me as someone who probably wouldn't have upgraded to the 10D without the wit and wisdom on this forum. I look every day, and learn something from you guys everyday.
Thanks Pekka

I can't imagine a better place to learn by example about choice of subject, composition, lighting, timing, and just being more adventurous in this hobby! All my best shots are still more luck than judgment, but like the saying goes, chance favours the prepared mind. And the post-processing tutorials have helped me turn more than one so-so shot into something I feel is worth putting on my wall.

I would also say a big thank-you to all the pros and experienced hobbyists who take the time to respond to learners' posts with helpful tips.

I peek in almost daily and have learned a lot from this forum!
All the others don't even come close in comparison!
