Hello. I drove down to a town 50 miles south to take some night shots a few weeks ago. If you have any suggestions, feel free. I'm open to any punches people want to throw! :0)

Oh sorry for no capture setting info. I have to be honest and say these pictures took quite a bit of tweaking with PS to make them come out decent.

I like the first one better. If the tiny/small background buidings can be removed by ps so much the better. It appears almost futuristic.

hmm good idea, those buildings are a little bit distracting

Nice!
Tough Subject though....
I would like to see the blacks a wee bit blacker in the sky area on the second one, and just a touch more detail on the pillars in the first - a big ask I know given the dynamic range, but would be great if you could pull it off...
Did you shoot this in RAW? If so you might be able to try one of the contrast blending techniques from two separate highlight / shadow layers - there is a great tutorial on this at luminous landscape if you aren't familiar with it. Some contrast masking might achieve the same thing.
I quite like the buildings in the distance...
Cheers,
Pete

thanks a lot for the ideas Day Tripper. Yeah I've done contrast/levels masking before. the S30 I have is shot so I'm going to have to wait for my S50 to come in the mail. But good idea, the next time I shoot these I'll shoot in raw to preserve as much quality as possible, and then I'll do some masking to enchance the darks/lights and of course post on here when that day comes. :0)
