And later on in the day, another Lynx spider with a Hoverfly (was lucky to spot this). This was the best angle I could do, and I didn't want to upset the Lynx spider trying to get a better one.

Agree, #2 is a great shot - I think I hate Lynx spiders now cos that one is eating a lovely little hoverfly lol.

Hi Dave,
Number 2 is a stunner of a shot, the last one gives a good sense of scale as to the size of the spider. Wonderful stuff.

Great captures, spider's feeding time is always fun...I used to have a pet huntsman, it could pounce so quick!

Thanks guys :) #2 is also my fave - I have tonnes of Lynx spider shots, since they are absolutely everywhere in the garden. Getting a great shot of them is harder, since they typically don't like to pose, but show you their back ends ;)
I really would have liked to have gotten a better angle with the last shot, but there was no way I could do that without upsetting the Lynx spider, and that just wasn't on.
Phil - spiders can move very quickly when they have to. I remember seeing a Lynx spider capture a fly that flew by too close, and boy was it quick. Lightning fast.
Thanks again for the kind words everyone.

Haha...My huntsman would always stalk, so snatching food wasn't too hard...Definitely have to watch out for some wild spider feeding...
