Sure it's heavy. And some people think I'm crazy for attaching to my body via a chest strap and hitting some fairly rough trails. But the pictures make it worth it.

Great shots.
I can see why you would want to take it along on these rides.

Any chance to see the chest strap arrangement?

Yeah, I can see why you'd want to take your 1Ds on those rides, I would too (if I had a 1Ds). Although I know that it would always be on my mind that I had something that valuable strapped to my chest, so I wouldn't be able to concentrate as well on the riding. All great shots by the way.

Beautiful work as always.

I found myself enjoying the ride far less when taking my 20D with me, so I have opted for a Canon SX100 because it's so much more portable, but since I've only had it for three weeks I haven't much chance to ride with it yet.

Your shots look great, I am not sure what your rig looks like but you know how much this stuff costs. I regularly ride around with my camera's at motocross races on a kingquad 700 or a my race bike. The only time I didnt feel comfortble is while trail bashing on the quad even with the camera in a Kata bag I was watching the bag and not the trail. So to make this short a good quality bag in the event of a fall might be all you need. Im planning on doing some M.B. with my 1Ds soon; hope I find half the great shots you have...

I'd rather take the 1Ds than the XTi. The 1Ds was made for that kind of shooting. The XTi wasn't.

Really love these shots! I have taken my 400d riding a few times, but i could never really enjoy the ride as much, always making sure i don't fall off
