I see this structure all the time on campus, and this is a shot I've been meaning to do for some time now. Just got my new 50mm and so I went out and took the shot. Unfortunately since I shot it at f/1.4 It's a little out of focus. I think next time I'll try with a slightly bigger aperture to get it a little more in focus.
The shot didn't really turn out the way I wanted, so I decided to mess around with a black and white conversion. I kinda like how it turned out.
C&C Appreciated.

The shot is well framed! I like the perspective and the lack of intended focus isn't all that distracting to my eye.
What did come to mind was that the detail at the end of the shot is rather non descript and distracting. Seeing as you are drawing the viewer's eye down there anyway, perhaps consider cutting out what's at the end there and layer in a more interesting subject like a statue perhaps?
Cheers! :)

Ah yes, I was actually noting that myself. What I was trying to do was get it to be blurred out of focus, so that you could not distinguish it what it was. However, my other intention was to get a model to pose somewhere between the arches. I thought they would frame a person nicely.
