I would like to set up a new site aimed at fine art sales. I would like to have a built in 'store' option so that the POS is direct from the website. Any advice?

Surely a website is a website regardless of what the market is?

Not exactly. Fine art is a different market and I am looking for something like sportsshooter only a site that is aimed at more of an art market. Its more of a networking direction. There are sites out there that have preset templates and are aimed at the fine art market, but I was looking to see if there were any sites that have a built in POS option as well. I am not interested in finding clients or doing weddings. I have a job that pays the bills but art has always been my passion. I would like to look at selling my work on a larger scale. With all the talent that touches this site, I was hoping someone had some direction for me. I don't really have a grip on how to determine what offerings out there are valid or worthwhile.

Spend one saturday or sunday every month or two visiting galleries. Or, if in your area they have what some people call "gallery crawls," participate. Both are good ways of scoping the competition plus meeting/networking with people. /Dan
