There have been a few posts recently on this and other boards re the quality of service from 7 DayShop in the Channel Islands.
I placed an order with them for a 1Gb CF card at the beginning of July and chased the order yeterday. Below is the e-mail exchange. I think you will agree that this exhibits truly wonderful customer service.......NOT
Your post : I ordred 1 x SD512 Secure Digital memory card 512 Mb and CF1GB CompactFlash 1 Gig early July. The SD card arrived mid July and I am yet to recieve the CompactFlash. It is now September and you debited my Credit Card over 1 month ago. I have noticed on several bulletin boards that your company is rapidly gaining a terrible reputation for this type of late delivery, I am also receiving spam e-mails from you advertising the very product that you have failed to deliver. Please respond to this mail as soon as possible and explain why there has been this unacceptable delay. Many thanks
7dayshop reply : firstly, please be advised that £ 93.49 has been refunded to you today and secondly it is not us, 7 dayshop, that is to blame for the late delivery, but the post office, royal mail regards
The bit I dont understand is, if they have refunded my money, then they must not have sent the item, in which case how is it down to the Royal Mail :?: :?: :?:

There does seem to a certain lack of logic to their argument
My boss has recently had problems with them not delivering too. He ordered a CF card and bag for his new D70 (yes, I know :( I tried to talk him out of it but he insisted on consorting with the powers of darkness ;) ) which never turned up. He had to source a card elsewhere in a hurry and has now gone on holdiay with one of my camera bags!

Your post : Thank you for the prompt reply, but there is one thing that I do not understand. As you have refunded my money I gather that you have not sent the item, if that is the case, then how can the non delivery be blamed on The Royal Mail?
Many thanks
Neil
7dayshop reply : the item did get sent out, but as you did not receive it we refunded you the amount.
What a nice company..... do we believe them?........ Nah

you may want to do a search on 7dayshop as it was discussed here recently and I got stung by tax and was unhappy with the customer services blah blah.
however, they have now changed their terms and conditions to take responsibility for import charges, which is a good move IMO
others appear to have had good service with them so they are not reliably unreliable (!), but there is certainly risk involved with using a low cost supplier like this. You get what you pay for, and despite my bad experience, I would consider using them again, due to the change to T&C, providing I wasn't in a rush for the parts.

As stated in this thread 7dayshop have changed their policy on VAT etc http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39290&highlight=
Personally I have bought a 10D, 300D, 17-40mm lens and my 70-200mm lens from them - all separate orders and all no problem apart from long delivery times.
You get what you pay for, luckily I haven't had to bother their customer services.

I've used them a few times mainly for film and a few other bits and bobs, and had not had any problems, last time was for a lens, I put the order in and got an email the next day (Monday) to say that it was out of stock. It took a few weeks, but then got another email to say that it had arrived and would be sent out. I had asked for express delivery, but didn't seem to come any quicker than the standard delivery order! I seem to have been fairly lucky.
As a pervious post says you get what you pay for, cheaper prices, but might just have to wait that bit longer. Although I think the service is getting worse, might be time to look else were.

I ordered a 4 port USB 2.0 hub from them a couple of weeks ago. Next day had a phone call saying they were out of stock and it would take a few days to complete the order.
This is a pretty good reaction from any store. I've bought a number of items from them over the last 9 months (including the 17-40mm f4 L) all at v good prices (especially photo paper) without a problem. Seems to me this shop is a bit like the famous curate's egg (good in parts).
I'll use them again, FWIW.

Jesus, the attitude this company has towards their customers is unreal. They screw up (or the Royal Post or whatever), customer doesn't get what he PAID for and they take the liberty of 'correcting' your errata.
A good shop would take blame on themselves, or at least act as if, apologize for not refunding you right away and express hopes that despite this unfortunate mishap you would again do business with them.

No, I don't think you were Neil. There have been lots of reports of problems with the lack of customer service provided by 7dayshop.
I personally have only once had a problem with an order that never arrived and the reponse from 7dayshop was that we had to wait 28 days before they could raise a claim with the Post Office. As it turned out, the Post Office were the incompetant party on this occasion, allowing too many staff to go on holiday without ensuring they had enough to actually do the work. Since the goods simply hadn't turned up, I did feel that 7dayshop's view was correct - although inconvenient to myself.
However, many people have had problems with missing or faulty goods and have had practically no customer service at all. In one or two cases I know of it is that the customer is making unreasonable demands and is upset that 7dayshop won't entertain those demands. However in the majority it is very clear that 7dayshop are plain and simply box-shifters and have very little idea what to do when things go wrong.
Of course, we have no idea as to the scope of the problems - as is the nature of the internet we only ever see the complaints, very few people think of posting about good service with the same volume as complaints. For all I know the rate of problems could be considerably less than 1% of all orders, it could be considerably more - although I doubt it, as that would mean such little turnover that they couldn't survive without ensuring an exemplary customer service.

I have used 7dayshop on many occasions and never had a problem. My latest purchase was a 100-400 Canon IS lens which came today after ordering a week ago. I also submitted a couple of questions and received answers within a couple of hours.
So no complaints from me!
