The outcome of such a topic is always the same: get the original one ;)
Way better quality :)
I'm very happy with my grip for the 400D/XTi

Have had no problems with the canon grip for my 20D, and at the time got a good deal on canon grip so not a great deal of difference in price

The grip the op posted is about £40.00 - Where did you get your Canon grip for the 20D from for near that price?
Any one tried this particular grip and care to share.
James.

My apologies, I should have said at the time I bought mine the third party grips were going for £80 and I got mine canon grip for £100 when they were going for £150 in the shops. HK supplies looks like it got a good rep, and we can never complete with HongKong prices in the UK, I just when with peace of mind and bought brand with warranty and somewhere easy to send it back to if anything went wrong.

Something everyone overlooks with these third party grips for the 20, 30, 40D series is that they load their batteries from the end (as pictured in the e-bay post) rather than from the back as does the Canon BG-E2 grip.
All the manufacturers that make L brackets for these cameras have manufactured them based on the fact the Canon grip loads batteries from the back. Using the third-party grips with an L bracket is going to mean removing the bracket each time the batteries are changed. After a while this constant on-and-off is going to ruin the threads in the grip's tripod socket.
