I love my powershot A40 except for one thing: I can't figure out how to turn off the beep when I take a picture in remote access mode. I'm photographing documents in libraries, and my constant beeping is borderline anti-social. I've considered opening up the camera and disconnecting the speaker, but would welcome less drastic solutions if anyone has one.
I can turn off the beep in auto or manual mode, but that doesn't seem to help me when i switch to play mode and hook up to remote access. Is there a software fix for this problem?
