I really enjoyed going through those as I like London. I particularly liked the back street views. A really nice set of well composed, interesting photos.
Were you using a polarizing filter? I liked the skies in some of your shots. Also I liked the perspective from your lens. Were you using the 17-40mm f/4 L?

Great shots! I really like the Stormtroopers! The only question I have is how did you get away with the shots in the Tube?

Ha - yep. Polarizing filter.
Is it that obvious I got a new lens?! :) And, yes, it is the 17-40 f/4 L.

No one ever knew.
I was already standing at one of the poles. Pulled the camera up with lens facing down the tube. Shutter half down on the way to my eye for the exposure and focus. Zero delay at my eye - and full shutter.
It's almost like shooting blind. I only have a millisecond or two to check the frame.
But, it is how to shoot in public. Holding your camera against your face for 10 seconds is a great way to make everyone notice you.

Just went through all 60 via your link.
Very nice collection, a different perspective.
Hope you did not fall foul of the dam security at the london eye? They are a bit over the top if you whip out a SLR but seem to ignor everybody with a compact or phone!!!

Thanks. "A different perspective" is usually what I'm going for. All of these, btw, are "as shot" other than color manip (which I obviously do). I am on my laptop, so I have not done the full-post on any of them. (Without my Watcom, I don't even try). Anyway, I'll be re-posting a few after returning to my home-base machine.
I shot Camden Town today --- which is one of the most bizarre places I've ever seen. I think I got some good material, but have not looked through them yet.
So, I didn't get a peep at the London Eye. I had no idea security cared about photos - and they certainly didn't bother me. Camden Town... Now that was an entirely different experience. Obviously the place is mobbed with tourists, and I swear at least 50% had compacts. But, as soon as those shop-keepers saw my 5D, they came running and yelling. It was actually a huge challenge to get the shots I wanted in that place. (While compact shooters are apparently invisible).
Anyway, to everyone in the UK, I had a great time visiting your country, and all of you are invited to Canada.

(I'll try to post some Camden tonight)

I wonder what all that nonsense was about. Some people really are as thick as two short planks.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to the UK though.

these are very very good, I went to your link too and was suitably impressed...your shots have an edginess about them, no doubt due to your style of shooting.

Thanks. I went to your site also. Lots of good stuff in each category. I must admit, I think the sink in photo-manip is a museum piece. Maybe it's "my taste", but i think the shot and the use of color is perfect. I laughed as soon as I saw it ---- lots of eye candy. I'm lovin how that tooth brush looks different in the mirror.
I'm being far to picky - but the shot is so good, I have to mention it. You caught a little bit of red material in the top left.

hey thanks for the compliment, I love that shot too but very few other people do lol, looks like we're in the weird bracket....that splash of red would be the towel hanging on the heater, I should've noticed that :o.
