I have been contacted by the General Manager for a new hotel/casino in Tucson, AZ, about providing photographic services for their week long grand opening the week of January 7 through 11. Work sounds as though it will mainly be shooting VIPs of various sorts with pretty girls and some entertainment. Not sure if this will be on-camera flash, available light and/or studio strobe work. Product will center on providing quick turnaround prints for guests, probably via on-site dye-sub printer. Also, some art works (collages/montages) will likely be desired. The GM and I worked together at my current venue for three years and he left under very friendly circumstances for this job.
I expect to provide the primary shooting and direction for this assignment working with their in-house event manager. At this juncture I am not sure if I will need an assistant but would like to have potential contacts. It is all like soft Jell-o at the moment but I think at a minimum I need someone who can download CF cards to a computer, do quick edits from RAW files, drop on a logo and queue and monitor prints, possibly shoot events which are concurrent with things I must shoot, and generally be willing and able to do whatever comes along.
I know there will be follow-on events so if this date doesn't work for you don't hesitate to PM me anyway. I haven't a clue about pay at the moment and may not know anything before the event, so if money is your prime interest rather than experience and networking this opportunity may make you nervous.
