Hi guys first post here and i hope you can help
My wife has a very large family, lots of kids etc... and i have a 30d. I have become the family photo guy for all the family occasions. I would like to get some proper lighting for portraits of the kids. Now i only ever use the on camera flash and can see the importance of lighting but havent got a clue what to buy or how to use it.
If you guys can suggest a good and simple lighting set up i would be extremely grateful. I am willing to spend up to 600 Euro but dont know if this is enough. I have a 24-105L a nifty fifty, a 28-135 and a sigma 10-20mm would these lenses be ok for the set up.
Thanks

24-105 would be just fine. As for the lights, I got mine from ebay and pieced the set together. I first bought a set and realized they wern't so good and they started failing so I started replaceing them with others and am now happy.

have you ever looked at the strobist blog (http://strobist.blogspot.com)? I started my lighting journey there. Recently I was going to buy some Alien Bees, but I realized I have never need anything beyond my strobist gear. As soon as I do I will buy some studio lights, but you can go a long way with just speedlights.
