1D3 RAW problems...

I have loaded the Canon software (from the solutions disk) and even updated Bridge and ACR, but I still can't see RAW files from my new 1D mkIII in Vista (as thumbnails) or use them in Bridge or ACR... I had no problems with my MkII

Have a I missed something somewhere?

Unless you have PS CS3 and ACR 4, you're not going to be able to process the 1D3 raw files without first converting them to DNG files.

I do have CS3 and ACR 4, but I didn't previously need to convert to DNG before being able to view the downloaded images in Bridge. It won't even let me let move from Bridge to ACR.

Did you download and install at least ACR 4.1? That's the release when the 1DmkIII got supported in CS3. The latest release is ACR 4.3.1 so you might as well download and install that if you're still at 4.0.

Yes downloaded and installed 4.3.1, still the same.
