Thanks, I was shooting motorbikes at Jerez in Spain, had a couple of days off, and ended up supping beers at a beach down the coast. My kit was in the boot of the car, so when the kitesurfers turned up, I couldn't resist getting some shots.

I was stood near the water's edge with a Manfrotto monopod, and a 234RC head, on a 600 f4 - dare I say it - Nikon.

The surfer had just left the water, and I was looking slightly down on her, which gives the sea as the background. If I is was lower down to the water, the background would have been sea and sky. As for distance - the picture is uncropped - so I wouildn't have wanted her any closer!
