I've just pulled the trigger on an order for three PocketWizard Plus II's.
It's always such a daunting time spending a good chunk of money, but I know they will be worth it. Depending on how I get on with them I will be selling my ST-E2.
I hope they arrive soon, dying to try them...

Good news on your new purchase. Can I ask where you are getting them from. I found it difficult trying to source these at a good price in the UK.

I just did my first shoot with my new PW's last night.
They worked magnificently! Not one misfire or sync issue!

Since the Plus II is a transceiver (a transmitter and a receiver in one unit), you don't need a separate receiver for the 430EX. Just switch the Plus II to receive mode and you're all set. what you will probably need, though, is a hotshoe to mini phone plug adapter cable so that you can connect the PW unit to the 430EX.

I got them from http://www.studiokitdirect.com. Seemed to be the best price I could find.

Enjoy your trip, I'm sure the PW's will not be your only purchase.;) Are the PW's you are getting in the UK the same frequency as those you are getting from B&H?

I have no idea, but I will be taking mine with me and speaking to the people there to make sure they will talk to eachother :-)

The European PW's work on a different freq than the ones in the states. If the ones you have has CE on the back, then you will need the same for them to work. I may be wrong, but it's worth checking first.

I just use two PW's. One one the camera and one on my main flash head and let it trigger the rest. How are you using the third one?

I will be using the third one to trigger another slave flash that can't be triggered by the other one.
