Since the MK I is still in demand, you can find them on occaision for around $130, give or take $50. :lol: :lol:

Whoops... sorry... should've been more clear.

I didn't realise there were 50mm macro mk1 and 2 as well as 1.4 mk1/2

I am talking about the 50mm 1.8 with metal mount. How much did they cost originally? What's an ok price for them now?

I'd say between $100-150. One suggestion: instead of bidding on it in the 35mm lens category, bid on one attached to a film camera in the camera category. You can usually get it for much less.

This is exactly how I got mine. It was attached to a Canon 630. Total price was $125. This WAS a few years back though. :wink:

And it was how I got my 28-135 IS, which was attached to an EOS 650, the original EOS. I, too, got the camera essentially for free.
