This year I put together some images to depict London at Night and had some calendars produced by Photobox. Printed 8 in total to give as one of those "other gifts" aside from the primary ones :-)

What have you done with your photography, gift wise, this chrimbo?

I bought my aunt a gold locket that would contain 4 photos. My mom died earlier this year, and she and my aunt had shared a home for almost 25 years, so now she's all alone (and I live on the other side of the country. I put a photo of my mom, my wife and I, and our kids and grandchild in the locket and sent it to her with a note reminding her she's never truly alone.

That is beautiful Mark and sorry to hear of your loss. I hope your aunt finds your thoughts and message welcoming and comforting and she enjoys this years xmas. As I hope you do too.

Sorry to hear about your mom, Mark. I'm sure the locket and photos will mean a lot to your aunt!

Rammy, I've been wanting to do the calendar thing myself -- there is a Kinko's/FedEx place just a little bit down the road from me that does that type of thing. I just haven't been motivated enough to try to pick out 13 pics that would fit!

Maybe tomorrow...:)

I showed these to a few work mates and it helped them spark some ideas for themselves; Such as family, Black and White, macro/abstracts.

These are actually so economical that you could pick any idea you like and "just make anything". I might make one for a lady I like to impress her ;-) :-) Do you think it will work?

I'm going to make one of these http://www.snapfish.com/gifts/product=notebook for my mom and my monster0in-law and design the front with pictures of my son. Of course I'm going to give one to me too. ;)

PS Your calendars look lovely.

Cool idea Tiffany. I did two calendars for me last month, one for the office and one for home and thought it might be good for other people too, as pressies :-)

Once you start printing stuff like these, other ideas start popping up :-)

Oh, goodie! I love ideas!!!! I think I might make another notebook for a friend of mine with pictures I've taken of her daugher. So far she has been my best customer and her daughter means the world to her especially after having 2 miscarriages.

Have you seen some of the modern designs such as the glass cubes? Jigsaws are fun too.

Funnilty enough, prints of pets on bags seem to be doing well in the UK.

I haven't seen the glass cubes but I have seen the puzzles. They are super cute.

I got a few Flicker Qoop books with around 70 pics of my boy for my family back in England.

Must say I'm impressed with the cover, and inside is a photo journey that I know the family will love looking at over Christmas.

For my brother's wedding, which is a couple days past Christmas, he commissioned me to produce a print 8x10 or bigger of an abstract image that includes the color brown. I'm still working on ideas.

Turkish: You take sugar?
Brick Top: No thank you, Turkish; I'm sweet enough. (see avatar for stunning looks)

:D

Best film out there.

Chandler

Back to the Brown abstract, have you come up with anything yet?

Bought this for myself as I thought no one will buy it for me.:(,

Anyway, I thought it would make a great Christmas present.

There are apparently more of his photographs in this book than in any other previous books. It features his work from his entire life. It is about an inch and a bit more thick. It is very good in my opinion.

Creating your own photobook is a great idea. Plus you can get as creative as you want with the design.

For that brown abstract image chandler, why not look at some close ups of brown leaves. Loads around at this time of day :-)

"When I throw a dog a bone, I don't want to know if it tastes good or not." :D

As for the brown abstract, I am thinking something similar to what's in this (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=412427) thread but with a brown backlight.

Your link did not work for me.

EDIT: Works now.

Nice idea. You can use virtually any food from the kitchen in a macro shot for abstract images.
