I like them all but my favorite would have to be #7. With #1 looking desaturated it almost appears the pattern on her dress is growing up from the ground.

never saw the growing out of the ground look until after you mentioned it. got a laugh out of it. i can see where you are coming from though!

I like them. I would like to see the color in her dress detail show a little bit better in a few. Looks from that one that the stitching is blue but it looks black in most of the rest of them. Overall, I like the posing though.

thanks kg4eoh. the dress stitching was blue. i did some funky stuff in pp that messed with the dress color. probably should have been more careful.

Very nice!
I especially liked the one showing her shoes!
It's what you might call a personality shot.;)
Great Job. :)

I like the processing on number one, and I kind of like how it looks like the dress is growing out of the ground. her pose seems strange, and I think a closer shot and/or higher angle would have improved the shot IMO.

Off to a good start... Overall I think you did well. One thing you may want to consider is to try and shoot your subjects a little less centralized in certain situations. I think #1 would benefit greatly from making it a 4:3 ratio and just cutting off a bit behind her... maybe right up to the back of the dress on the ground. Try it and I think you'll find it becomes a stronger image. Had you placed her further back into the depth of field, her being central would have worked better.

i think she was either in the middle of a laugh or was leaning forward because she was freezing cold. it was a misrably cold day! could you explain the higher angle concept or give an example? do you mean use a step ladder or something?

Yep, that was all I meant. Not that that would necessarily replace this shot--I just thought it would be an interesting shot to get up a bit higher.

I think this one is pretty 'heavy' on the left side of the frame / maybe putting her head closer to the right upper corner of the frame and tilting a little would help
