I think its a bad sign when you have time on a Friday night to play with Photoshop :)

Here is the edit.

The original is the third shot posted in this link (I wasn't sure if it was proper to post the same shot twice)

Thanks all...the leaves to the left of the bird are taken from another shot and layered over the original so the dark twig was somewhat lined up. The other twigs were cloned from the original shot. Its the simple green back ground that I cant quite get to look good :(

Excellent job, I am impressed with the leave that you curled towards the bottom of the tail on left side. EXCELLENT job with that...

My first name may be Scott, but my last certainly isn't Kelby so I don't think you'll want lessons from me Henry :)

Thanks Dan and I appreciate your attention to detail.

Thanks Gary....I'm thrilled to think any of my images has any artistic merit. Hopefully studying all the POTN bird threads is starting to pay off :)

I would have never known, Scott. When I went back to original, I was absolutely stunned by what you had done.

I been away (from the board) for the past week or so trying to get a handle on Lightroom and Photoshop. I don't know that I'll ever be able to do something like this!

Thanks Ed.....how is the new work flow coming along? I tried the 30 day trial for Lightroom, but found that I was so used to ACR & CS2 that I decided to upgrade to CS3 instead of buying LR. ACR & PS works well, but so does LR. The only thing I know for sure is that its worth doing your best to start with a 'perfect' image and I still cant figure how to do that very reliably :)

Lovely composition a great photo, well done on the P&P.

Thanks for the kind words Brian.

Nice job on the cloining.
I'm glad you did not post the original in this thread, as it gave me time to see the re-work without knowing what the issue had been.

I did not catch the cloning before seeing the original.
This means success IMHO :)

Thanks for the encouragement Jake...the frustrating part is dealing with the 'simple' green back ground. Its really much harder than the leaves.
