I think you can work on your composition of the shot a little more from these frames, 1) with the log just is odd but different 2-4) just are a bit dull but i do like 5 a lot, only thing it might have been nice if you could get a slightly different angle with the sun so it wasn't showing through the posts...but again these are only personal opinions on this stuff, i am no pro at all...3-4 the sky is very dull so maybe something like HDR could really add to those photos...

Please ignore the poll. It doesn't make any sense.

1 through 4 better lighting. 1,3 and 4 are flat. 2 needs some fill light but I bet she would get really mad if your flash went off in the middle of her recital.

1 move the log lower in the composition or at more of a diagonal.

2 is has a lot of noise.

3 just doesn't have a point of focus. The tree stops you from moving through the photograph and blocks the fall foliage. The ducks are not prominent enough to add to the photo.

4. Needs a better sky. Grey skies are just that.....grey. They rarely add anything to a photo. Maybe a wider lens.

5. I like the comp, including the sun showing through the posts. The exposure and framing is good. Only critique would be a better sky.

All that being said, remember it is always easier to critique someone else's photos than it is your own. Welcome to POTN and keep posting.
