I love them! I'm a sucker for a shot with snow or rain, though. 2 is my favourite.

Greatly impressed by all of these .. but #5 blows me away!

Great shots, especially #8, you certainly coped with the exposures, they must have been a nightmare in the snow.

I LOVE THEM! Great work! I love #5, very classy like it should be in an ad. #7 is beautiful too. I love the red against the white. They are all beautiful. I was hoping for either snow or nice weather in my last wedding. Instead I got 40 degrees and outside. Very nicely done.

Would u mind explaining how some of these were set up?

Megapixle
8th of December 2007 (Sat), 13:59
Wow thanks everybody for having a look. I really can't take much credit here. Like DigiGrin said the elements just all came together. It would have been hard for anybody to take a bad picture. Mostly I was just lucky to have a fun and cooperative couple. Some brides I've worked with would have been in tears about the weather.

Deniell--ugh, I know that umbrella reflection drives me crazy. I'll have to see if I can get rid of it. To protect my equipment I had to have that umbrella hovering over me the whole time.

CartoonBear--there's really nothing fancy about the setups for these. On #8 I just placed a flash behind the couple, but the others are pretty straight forward. #5 I climbed up a stairway to look down on them but the others are just straight on.

Awesome work. #1 is perfect in every way. The only fix I see besides the umbrella reflection is that # 6 is not straight.

Well done, I am still trying to determine if these were model shots or a real wedding. The snow did not mess with your meter too badly, these are great. Makes me want to get married....on a beach.

Yep, you can raise you fee, a lot.

You did a terrific job with these. I've got a couple of weddings in the next few weeks and had planned on capturing shots like these. Both of the brides are interested in some outdoor shots.

Marvelous work!

#1, 2 & 5 are fantastic. The snow really adds to the pictures... great work!

I am hoping for the day when I get to shoot a wedding in snow!!!!

Did you have someone holding an umbrella over you so that snow did not get all over your gear? OR do you have a 1D series body? :D

Wow, hoping for snow and actually getting it...nothing like that ever seems to go right on wedding day.

Great job on the shots. My favorite is #5, although I just wish the shape of his mouth wasn't so awkward.

Great photos! I really like #4, except for the green and white umbrella reflection in the window. Were you using an umbrella to keep the snow off the camera? I only wish I was half as good. I just need to keep practicing.

EDIT: Ignore the umbrella question. I just saw you addressed earlier. I should read the entire thread before posting.

I'm surprised none of the Utah shooters have chimed in yet. What more of a compliment can I make above what has been given? My first wedding was at the SL temple when it was snowing and they came out nice too. Not as nice as these but the snowy weather can give great ambient light.
