I need tips for making photos of plus sized women with not so plus sized husbands more flattering for the women.

Anyone have any ideas, poses, or tips to get a little closer to accomplishing the impossible task of making women who don't like to look at pictures of themselves, sudden fall in love with a family picture that includes them. Even if we see them as beautiful, they tend to not be so open minded about it.

What I would do is Have the guy stand in front of the camera and have the plus size behind him kind of hidding atleast half of her body like she is peaking from behind the corner.

I'm a newbie, but we discussed this in class one day a week or so ago... what I remember from that... larger people look better shot at an angle (45 degree if I remember correctly). If they are sitting, having them twist at the waist (knees to the side, twisting their upper body towards the camera) helps to slim them. If it was a portrait of just that person, lighting that is more to the side of them (rather than directly in front of them) helps to thin a heavy face. Remind them to sit tall if they are sitting because EVERYONE has a pooch when they slump. :) That's about all I can remember... maybe someone else will come along shortly and correct any errors I may have made and give you some more tips. :) Best of luck!

All basically good tips. Here's a couple more...... A heavy person usually has a hard time twisting so, just have them sit at an angle like the link from cdmonkey shows. Short light the face so that more of the shadow side faces the camera. Have them lean slightly forward (to the direction they're sitting) then raise the face - this smooths out double chins.
