OOOHHHH..............great capture!!!

There is potential in this shot. Do you post-process your photos??

.......I think that with some added saturation and auto levels, this photo would be STUNNING!!

Well .. it is a beautiful scene.
All such ponds and marshes await the Canada Geese.
It will take a bit of work to mine the image: I suggest:

1: "Digital Blending" -- see that topic in the Luminous Landscape -- to recover underexposed forest .. Normally you take to shots (OK Sky and OK Trees and blend. You may be able to rescue something here with a dup of your images and blend bright and dark

2: Another idea might to try again in the magic morning hour. We seem to be looking north and a revisited shot with the geese taking off or flying overhead might be possible.

Here is a fast blend that I did to make it look "English". Lovely location, but needs more light.

I'm in favor of the silhouettes and this picture is extremely well taken. I'm not totally in favor of the highlighting of the scene as howie has done, but for like post-card and more commercial purpsoses, that would probably be the route to go.

Nice composition. The effect is a bit empty. A lonely looking scene. Some color would warm it a bit.

roanjohn - all I did was add a bit of warmth (10% yellow and red) in PhotoPaint. I'll mess with the levels tonight! Thanks.

Leighow - Wow. I've used blending before but hadn't considered it for this image. I'll have to re-think.

BOBinsane - Thanks. I just mentioned to Leighow that I hadn't considered blending. One of the reasons was that I thought the silhouette worked for this image. But I've got to admit, I can see a better image somewhere between mine and the one that Leighow fixed up.

ginsing - What do you think of the lightened image Leighow provided?
