NB4L vs NB5L

Will the NB4L (from my old SD200) work in an SD850 (which takes NB5L)?

Nope. They're different shapes and sizes, IIRC. If they were interchangeable they'd be called the same thing. Pick up a spare of the right size at Sterlingtek (htttp://www.sterlingtek.com).
