Heh Nice shots. I do think your white balance is off a bit. They seem alittle bit bluish. Try setting a custom white balance by using the ice or auto white balance works well in some arenas. You daughter must be a good player. All the best to you both.

Good shots! I especially like the first and last shots. The first shot is framed well leaving room for her to skate into the picture and it also shows the puck and the look of concentration on the players face as she carries it. It also shows her strength in skating as powers past the opposing player. The last shot tells a story about the game and also showcases your daughter with her name boldly in the frame. Enjoy the new lens!

I did take a Custom White Balance of the Ice. I was shooting from the Penalty Box, from the other side of the rink. She was playing in Rink 1 in our Arena, Rink 2 has much better lighting. I did notice while shooting, there was a fair bit of light loss at the Center Ice. After the shoot, I looked up at the lighting and noticed they had put newer bulbs in some sections of the rink. The newer bulbs cast blue, and the older bulbs more of a brownish yellow.
I was going to Crop it tighter, but I wanted to show direction and the Canon Logo...
