I used to think that Chickadees were the cutest bird but the redpolls are back and they're beginning to win me over. I think it's that tiny beak.

Hi Andy. Thanks for having a look. That red on their head sometimes glows when the light hits it just right.

Thanks Scott. They're a great little bird.

Thanks Gary. I'm really liking the 40D and 100-400mm combo.

All I can say is WOW!
Great series Shirley. My wife and I miss PEI. I think I have golfed every course on that Island. All the time we spent there I did not realize the multitude of birds there are.
Good job.

Hi Shirley,
Fantastic images of a cute little bird - the lighting is just right and you captured the inquisitive little fellas in just the right poses as well. Also nice to see they made it out to PEI! I saw my first redpoll a couple of weeks ago, a few more since but their presence seems unnoticed in the last week or so.

This is not to put the Chickadees down, but Redpolls win the cutness factor hands down! I'm with Ted in regards to shot number 3... :-)

Beautiful shots, Shirley. I'd still lean toward the Chickadees buts that's because they are plentiful down here, are more than willing to be hand fed and besides, Redpolls are a rarity in these parts!

There are quite a few species here on the Island. Over 350. As of yesterday I have 78 on my life list. :D

Thanks Liz. That little spot can sometimes look iridescent. It's very pretty.

Hi Michele. Yes, it really is a tough choice. The Chickadees have that "personality" thing going for them. :D
Thanks Ray, thanks Daniel. Thanks Ed. Perhaps the Redpolls will pay you a visit this year.
Hi Henry, The second one makes me laugh. If a redpoll could look majestic.... :D

I'll trade you for some of those Snow Buntings. :D
