What straps are folks using on their 1 series bodies. I have an op tech but i am somewhat concerned about how much weight the plastic connectors can handle. I feel that every time I connect and disconnect I am weakening the plastic. This may or may not be a legitimate concern but I don't want to find out the hard way.
I really like the way the attach loops drop to the side when taking photos and I want to stick with a loop attachment type strap.

Why, the POTN strap, of course. :D

I use one of the first POTN straps available along with a hand strap and frequently am lugging my 1DsMkII w/a 70-200/f2.8L IS and a flash around on it with no problem. On occasion I attach a spare battery (I have a pouch for it) and flash card holder to the strap as well. This is probably the heaviest configuration I would use regularly, but on one occasion I had a 200/f1.8 attached to the camera and only held by the neck strap (no flash attached) I would not be likely to do this again.
The plastic connectors are the least of the things I worry about. I get more worried about the connection to the camera wearing out or the back strap sometimes seems flimsy, but So far no evidence of wear.
Whenever I am shooting in the studio, I only use the handstrap, so the main part of the neck strap comes off and I hook the two remaining ends together so they are out of the way.
Works for me so far.
Also my understanding is the newer cameras are lighter then the 1DsMkII.

Just curious: what's wrong with the original Canon strap?

when wearing it for a long time it cuts into my neck and I do not like the way the attachment to the camera does not drop easily to the side when taking pictures.
