Will these lenses work with the canon rebel and how would you rate there quality compared to the ef lenses.They are selling at a local camera shop for twenty to forty dollars.U813800 C/FD CANON 50/1.8

If they are FD or FL mount lenses they will not mount on the Rebel, or any other EOS camera body. There are adapters available from several sources, but then they will only function as a manual focus and manual aperture lens. Some of the adapters also limit your ability to focus to infinity.
Even though FD lenses are fine pieces of glass, it usually doesn't make sense to buy them for use on an EOS camera.

Basically similar to the EF 1.8/50 that you can buy for 80$ new.
But they won't work on your camera, as they are FD lenses.
