Between a Snapshot and a Portrait

Here we are in Germany again. Well, not actually in Germany again, but simply a shot but I forgot to post from when we were there last May.

You have to know that Marcia hates to have her picture taken, so any time she is acquiescent I take advantage of it. The wall of his building was such a lovely color, and it was very faithfully captured here, but it was missing something, so I asked Marcia to lean against it. She agreed, only if she did not have to look. That is the reason for the closed eyes.

Even with eyes closed though, I see the satisfaction on her face as she enjoys the precious few moments of sunshine that we got.

Please critique as a portrait, because this is the closest thing to a portrait she is ever going to let me take.

Subjects with thier eyes closed seem to be the trend ;-)

A great capture. The feeling of ease in her expression and the sun illuminating her face gives a sense of relaxation and peace.

Also like the color of the background in contrast to her monochromatic attire.

............the only thing that distracts me is the fact that a part of her elbow is off the frame.........
