Lately, Ive been doing great during the day. But when it comes to night shots, I suck the worst. Settings are off, my pictures frustrates me, just cant get it right. My question is, what is the "right" settings to use during the night? Im using my 430ex with an off shoe. and thats about it. I probably get 2 "great" photos, but Im wanting more of a series. If you guys want to know my setup is: 20d, 1770, 430ex. Help me please!

I probably get 2 "great" photos, but Im wanting more of a series. Usually there are only 1, maybe 2 good angles you can shoot for a given lighting set-up. Then you have to move everything.
Take notes on what works & keep experimenting.

I was wondering also, why my pictures keep on coming out grainy? Is it the high ISO?

tripod is imperative.

Have that....I was wondering if it can be pulled by hand held though.. of course it can be hand held BUT dont expect too much. you'd be amazed how much better your shots are at night using a tripod with low iso and low shutter speed with a timer or remote
