Well I think my inexperience shone through with regard to settings, coupled with hands that wanted to fall off with cold and a blinding hangover !
We ventured up for the second pass and when we heard there was a long stoppage we made our break for the car and came home, cold wet and disappointed !

By all accounts everyone said how difficult the day's conditions were, most photos can be recovered in photoshop, a few tweaks in photoshop has helped ;)

If you were using a 100-400L yesterday you were always going to struggle. but having said that the edited versions have come up quite nicely :)

Anyone know how long the stoppage actually was in the afternoon, no matter really as we were very wet and cold even though we were dressed for the conditions !

Will have a play about with some more in PS and see what I come up with, all shot in jpeg aswell and the 100-400l did struggle, well it didn't I did with duff settings :)

No idea about the stoppage, most of us were well on the way home by then ;)

I wouldn't blame yourself too much. Even with an f2.8 lens yesterday wasn't much fun.

Like the edited versions best. I always shoot Raw+Jpeg now, just incase I get it wrong.

Yeah I was there with the Sigma 120-300 and the 70-200 f2.8 IS and they still made the conditions difficult so you done well with the 100-400. The only stage I made was the one with the long stoppage, I waited half hour in the freezing rain before calling it quits and heading the 3 hours back up the road :( Not a good day out for me as I only hit the shutter 25 times! :(
