A did a small shoot for a friend's band. I still have to do some editing to these, namely clearing out the bad reflections in the window in the back, but this is what I have so far.

I like the warmer of the two. I think I went a little overboard with the blue tint on the second one.

#1's cool, I think you see the individual personalities of the members.

#2's just weird.

#3's boring. They look like they're tired of the pictures already

That's funny. Some one on another forum said #3 was the only one they liked because no one was making a stupid face. They're all goofy though...so I thought the stupid faces were appropriate.

Boring! and over-processed.

Gee...that's very insightful of you.

Just my opinion, that is why you posted is it not? It's not terrible, it just lacks personality. And I know you were going for a certain look with the locale of the photo, but it seems to me that this might have been better served with the band members sitting at the bar or hanging around out back in front of an old brick wall. I dunno, that's just how the photo smacked me when I saw it.

To much photoshopping. As said the photos are a little boring need to try something a little more exciting and original.

Do you know there is another "Village Idiot" who usually posts on the bird forum?? Strange they let you both have the same name....

Right. You've said this before. I told you that I don't like birds and I don't post in that forum. Strange you keep bugging me about it. I'll go ahead and ask a mod if they have a problem with it so you'll stop harrassing me.

Yes, can these people not read your title?

I know, right?

Any ways, one mod said there were two other people with the same name and that it wasn't really a big deal.

So Karen, do you know that there's two other "Village Idiots" that are members of this forum? It's strange that it bothers you that much.

You should really comment on my photos next time. That would be awfully nice of you. :o

I really like that first one VI. I like images that show character and this image makes me want to get to know the band, the others just don't get it done for me. They aren't bad, just not as good as the first one, IMHO.

I think you should post the photo on this website. (http://rockandrollconfidential.com/hall/hall_detail.php?dd_keyid=89)

It fits very nicely into the "another gratuitous use of a brick wall for a band photo" category!

I agree with you about the tint, I prefer the colour of the first one. Second is a bit silly, and the third is just boring.

There's nothing, really, that does anything for me in any of the shots.

The first two (especially the second) are just too goofy to do any good. The third one, while being the best of the three, is (as others have mentioned) boring.

Brick walls are passe. I think you'd be better off shooting them in front of a textured backdrop.

Personally, I also think they're a bit over-processed.

Despite all the criticisms, though, the bottom line is this: If the band likes 'em, it's all good...

Cinder blocks and plywood. Nice try though.

That's the band though. They wanted something goofy. I was just screwing around to hide the hideous picture from the kit lens and they liked the processing. I was trying to figure out something for a few good shots while we took a break from recording, but they're in a large warehouse that was turned into a practice space, so there's not much in the way of different scenery there.

I guess I could have always went with railroad tracks

Hehehehe... "Train tracks" are the new "brick wall".

Like I said, if the band likes them, that's what matters.

I've done plenty of shoots in which I thought the "concept" was bad. But, then again, I'm not the one paying me to take the photos. If a band wants to pay me to take photos of them in front of a brick wall, well, then I'm the biggest brick wall advocate on the planet...

I like the first one the most but I find it lacks a bit of punch. Here is my take on it, I hope you don't mind.
