I seem to remember people saying that the equipment requirement to join CPS was 2 Pro level AF bodies and 3 L series lenses. However, these pro level bodies didn't include 10Ds or lower, but looking at it now it seems they allow 300Ds...odd :?

Just pulled up the list of qualified equipment according to CPS Europe and it includes the 10D and 20D, but not the 300D.
I guess a professional camera costs $1000 or more?

Hmm strange list. Does this mean that if I just own a 1,4x extender or even the 50 mm f1.8 I qualify as a proffesional and can join CPS? Or is there other terms somewhere?
EDIT: forget about my questions I looked it up myself

You have to have some kind of a portfolio and proof thereof. You have to be a working pro making over 50% of your income from photography, and proof thereof, among many other requirements.

two pro bodies, 10D and above, plus 3 "L" glasses are the basic requirements. They may ask you for your proof of works and income but that's not a must.
I applied my membership 2 months ago, they emailed me my member no. about a month ago, still waiting for membership card though , apparently it takes 4 weeks for it to ship

I don't want to sound like I'm bitter, but what are the benefits of being a member of CPS ? I've never heard of it.

it's a club for people who like to spend lots of money on photography equipment.
