I got it thru ecost for $889 + $10 UPS Overnight. I'm hoping it will ship today but seeing as it's a holiday I can expect it in about 2 days. :D

I've had mine for a month, if you are like me you will have a great time.

I've had to do at lot of reading since I got it and the learning curve for me has been steep but I'm having a good time learning from my numerous mistakes.

You'll LOVE it :D

Don't take any notice of those that say you should have a 10D (or 20D or mark II or concord with racing stripes or whatever  )
The 300D get's excellent quality images for the money

I've used a 10D a bit and if it's anything like that I'm sure I'll love it. I hope it makes that click sound when I take a picture so I feel like a professional photographer. :D :P

I got my Rebel over the weekend, and I love it!

And it does make that nice fancy shmancy click sound when you take a picture.

Enjoy! :D

Get ready to be broke :) I just ordered a $1409.00 lens for my $999.00 Rebel (I bought when they were first released.) I do have a 20D on 'order' though.

Let your addiction begin!

I can't figure out what you ordered ... :?
EF 85mm 1.2L ?
EF 16-35mm 2.8L ?
Or can it be the EF 100-400 L ?? :D

Good luck spargo. You will love your new cam. Digital SLR opened a whole new photo world to me. :D

That's B&H's price on the 100-400L :) :) :) :)

UPS.com shows that it's 'on the truck for delivery.' So here's where I set a lawn chair in the yard and sip tea until they pull up to the house!

This is why I never want to become a full-time employed photographer - if it were just a job the giddiness factor would disappear!

I know.

Just got my 400 5.6L from B&H among a bunch of other stuff. Took only 60 hours or so from New York to Norway but I guess I checked the tracking some 50 times :D

I know what you mean about the tracking, I always do that when I have something cool coming. I even checked the tracking for my memory card 50 times this weekend, even though it was sitting in the wherehouse all during the 3 day weekend. But it's coming today. :)

I just got my memory card a bit ago. Sandisk Ultra II 512MB, $72 shipped from newegg. I went to test the read/write speed using my 9 in 1 internal card reader on my desktop. I randomly grabbed 3 big files totaling 343MB. It took 2 minutes 20 seconds to write to the card, and 2 minutes 14 seconds to read back to the computer using an IDE 7200RPM hard drive w/8mb cache. Not too shabby I say. :) Now if only that camera would come so I had a use for it...
