Spent last weekend in Santa Barbara. Had a wee too much to drink one evening (damn those sangrias!) and was teetering back to the hotel when I saw these lamps. It was dark and I had no tripod, just two unsteady hands.
The shot came out like this. The only alteration I made was to increase the color saturation a tiny bit. It looks like a painting to me.

So you're trying to have us believe that it's out of focus because no tripod and slow exposure rather than because you were crawling back to the hotel drunk???
:)
Anyway, very pretty colors. I have one suggestion, which may or may not work, but the shot has an awful lot of symmetry in the vertical lines and the two lamps positioned at different heights...and part of what I like about the shot is the contrast between the symmetry of these lines which suggest order and the dark colors and blurred feeling that suggest that things are not under control (which, as establisghed before is true for the artist....). So what I would suggest, is to slightly rotate the whole thing in PS to have the vertical lines be as straight as possible rather than going from right up to left bottom and accentuate the "order" of the elements and nice geometrical order.
It's just a sober thought...I'm going for a drink now.

That's an excellent idea, Philippe. I'll give it a shot. :)
