The weather was ok first thing in the morning, then it started to rain, then sleet and finally at about 10.30am the snow started. Although I was prepared my hand ended up very cold so god know how I managed to work the camera. Thanks to Geoff, who had loaned me a spare StormShield my camera stayed fairly dry. There was a good turnout from the forum.

Had a play with the 15mm Fisheye but managed to get water on the lens and had nothing to dry it hence the smudge

But that did not last long when the snow arrived

This gives you an idea when the photographers had to contend with

I like the shots, the weather adds a bit of something to make them stand out from normal racing shots. Not sure if it was a type on your part or CRACK means something different in the UK??? If you were a crackhead I'm sure the weather wouldn't have mattered.

Ahhh..Soooo, not on crack cocaine huh? Good to hear. Actually when I read the post I thought you had intended to type track, not crack.

Over here we call it craic, as in "the craic was mighty"

The spelling craic has attracted some criticism. Diarmaid Ó Muirithe has written:

“ The constant Gaelicisation of the good old English-Scottish dialect word crack as craic sets my teeth on edge. It seems, indeed, that many people think the word is an Irish one; hence we find advertisements proclaiming "music, songs, dancing and craic". The implication is that craic = boozing and high jinks, great fun as it used to be ”

BTW, the day seemed very difficult for pics, good shots in the conditions ;)

Cheers Alan, good to see you again. The fisheye ones were dissapointing but this was due to a gob of snow falling on the lens while I was trying to demist it :) One thing tho, the fisheye looks even better on the 5D without the crop factor

2nd shot works for me :D Not too many Birkbecks around so it's nice to see the name stuck on a racing machine. I'll have to see if I can get over for next season. Good shots.
