THe center focus point is a cross-type "blah blah blah" when used with a lens that is 2.8 or faster.
..............Cross-type is similar to the 1 series cams right??

Looks like it would be real sweet for birds in flight. (Now why would I think that...?)
I like the tighter setup - I never ever used the outer ones on the 10D.
