Great photo! Capture, exposure and timing!
Some nitpicky things - the subject is in the center as is the horizon. *Usually* you want your subject to one side (think thirds) and looking or in this case, being rocketed into the photo. Horizon is a little off, rotate it a little CCW to bring it straight. Hold your hand to the right of the 'surf boart and turn it into a portrait aspect image, make a stronger comp? I think it does. Not sure of the vignetting - don't think it works here.
Can you share the specifics on the image? Focal length, shutter speed, aperture, iso?

I like this shot. I'm going to disagree with Milliker (somewhat). If you look at the wake as 1\3, the beach line and associated housing, etc. as 1\3 and the surfer as 1\3 then this is correct vertically. If you look at the lines coming in from the corner as 1\3, the surfer as 1\3, and the spray coming off the board as 1\3, then it is also correct horizontally. I guess it depends on what you are looking at. Either way it is a great capture, caught at the height of the action.
