Taken at 60 mph on the road from Seward to Anchorage. Cropped and did a quick double-the-sky layer thing to darken the sky (sorry I don't know what the process is called).

Hope someone likes it! First post...so please be nice hehe. But still critique.

Well for a shot from a car -- it is impresssive -- thanks to the 1/400 shutter speed.

The land is flat and limits the perspective -- as does the wide angle lens.

I suspect that few great photo-ops are shot from speeding cars. Consider bribing your companions. Stop and stretch -- body and photo-mind.

Point and Shot is simply Point and Shoot. Armed with $1000 worth of camera technology you can't miss such simple shots. Agreed?

Thanks. Yeah, I should have told them to stop. I don't really like the shadows, but I do like how the trees seem to all be in a row.

I am a total noob at photography! Here are some other pics from the same trip:

At 55mm on kit lens...the people standing next to me had huge lenses. This shot would have been incredible with a longer lens, no?

Well you are absolutely right ... and as a G2 owner I too wish thatI had a long lens and a good tripod. The Killer Whale is dynamite. The sunset is great too .. Love that pan .. might improve with a bit os brightening.

Alaska Eh -- mind you your 1st shot had that color ... I hear that the mountains are nto all that big. Friends have just started a cruise and will be arriving at Juneau in a couple of days.
