View Full Version : "flat" bugs, but not flat bugs!

These are all over the stems and leaves of some plants in our garden. My eyes must be getting bad. To the naked eye, I thought they were like cocoons of something. On screen however, I see they are actually some sort of insect. I am assuming the 2 black dots are eyes, and black squiggly lines on their back are their guts! Regardless, I like them because they don't move :)

ID anyone?

Might pull out the 2xTC and see how big I can get them!

wow! these are weird creatures...? im not sure what they are , but good job capturing them!

They are scale insects - tend not to be too good for the plants in dense concentrations. You can wipe them off with a tissue.

Thanks Mike! Amazing what the macro lens brings out that my eyes can't!
